Bookmark Weaver ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension designed to help you organize and manage your bookmarks using AI-powered features. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Bookmark Data
- We access your Chrome bookmarks only to provide organization and management features
- Bookmark data (URLs, titles, folder structure) is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
- We never upload your complete bookmark collection to external servers
2.2 AI Processing Data
- Local AI (Chrome Built-in): When available, AI features run entirely on your device. No data leaves your browser.
- External AI (Google Gemini): When local AI is unavailable, individual bookmark URLs and titles may be sent to Google's Gemini API for categorization suggestions
- We only send the minimum data needed (URL and title) - never your entire bookmark collection at once
2.3 Subscription Data
- If you purchase a Pro subscription, payment processing is handled by Stripe
- We receive limited information from Stripe including: email address, subscription status, and payment dates
- We never see or store your credit card numbers or full payment details
2.4 Analytics (Optional)
- We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the extension
- This includes: feature usage counts, error rates, and performance metrics
- Analytics data is fully anonymized and cannot be linked to individual users

- Subscription Management: To verify your subscription status and provide Pro features

5. Third-Party Services
5.1 Google Gemini AI
When local AI is unavailable, we may use Google's Gemini API. Data sent to Gemini is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We only send individual bookmark URLs and titles, never bulk data.
5.2 Stripe Payments
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Payment data is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
6. Your Rights
- Access: Your bookmark data is stored locally - you can always see it in Chrome's bookmark manager
- Export: You can export all your data at any time using our Export feature
- Delete: Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data
- Opt-out: You can disable external AI features and use only local processing
7. Children's Privacy
Bookmark Weaver is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
